On 16 Feb 2024 the members Unincorporated Association voted unanimously to allow Marske United Football Club Limited to take control of Marske United.

The Limited Company is made up currently of Mark Hastings-Long (Operations Director and Chairman), Craig Gibbin (Director) and Paul Hart Commercial Director). At the last directors meeting held on the 4th March 2024 Mr Michael McGuinness was voted on to the board as Finance Director and will be shortly be also investing in the company.

Initial discussions have taken place with several persons interested in investing and becoming additional directors and these will be progressed.

We have raised funds from excellent Quiz nights, presentation evening, race night and on match nights when we have hosted Redcar Newmarket and Redcar Town due to their own pitches being waterlogged and having to reduce a backlog of matches. Upcoming we have more quiz nights, a music night and a fashion show. This income along with the fantastic weekly cash draw, hire of our pitch and some very kind donations have allowed us to plan a list of improvements to Mount Pleasant prior to next season including:

Repairs to the home team roof with new pitched roof to stop water ingress.

Repairs to flood lights using LED lights to replace the broken lamp by the Can Bar. (funding for new floodlights columns control boxes etc is currently being applied for, to be delivered during the summer of 2025)

Extension of Mike Findley stand, to provide additional covered standing near the Can Bar. A grant for these works has already been obtained.

The funding is being progressed to enable the redundant tennis courts to become a 3G training pitch complete with floodlights, fencing and incorporating the relaying of the access road and car park.

A new fridge has been purchased for the Clubhouse and an additional washing machine is planned for the kit room.

As you will be aware the club has appointed Craig Skelton and Simon Kasonali as managers for the 2024-2025 season with Nicky Ward as Assistant Manager. Club roles such as Match Day Secretary, Club Secretary, and Physio have also been filled with further details on this in the next few weeks.

The new Managers are already trying to arrange pre-season matches with clubs such as Spennymoor and Middlesbrough already approached.

Our Reserve team and Junior teams are to be incorporated more into the club and to this end, the Junior section now has its own committee that meets on a regular basis, with direct access to the main committee and directors. It is the clubs intention to have a pathway through the Junior teams to the Reserve team that ultimately can produce players for the first team.

As you can see the Club has been very busy in the last few weeks and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers and supporters for their continued support, and we all await the outcome, from the FA during May, as to which league Marske United are to be placed in.

Mark Hastings-Long
Chairman
