Paul Burton admitted league leaders Blyth Town will be difficult to contain when they come to the John Keegan Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The relegated Northumbrian outfit are eleven without reply in their opening two league games, scoring wins against Birtley Town and Penrith.

Marske United remain unbeaten after the opening week. Charlie Watt and Kenzie Harker both opened their accounts in draws against Whickham and Easington Colliery.

The Seasiders boss argued he was pleased with the progress his side had made since last season, but conceded Saturday’s contest would be the toughest test yet.

“They’ve obviously a real threat up front.” He said. “and they’ll take some containing.

“I don’t know much about them to be fair. They’ve got a lad there who played for Whickham last year, Bailey Adamson. He’s a good player. He scored against us, so I know he’s a decent led. Center forward.

“Other than that, I don’t know a great deal about them. I would’ve loved the opportunity to go and watch them if we could’ve. Unfortunately, we played on the same night.

“I thought we were compact on Tuesday, we just have to do something similar. We’ll have to wait for our opportunities to come along, but we can cause teams problems.

“This one is going to be difficult.”
