Callum Luck signs for Spennymoor Town

Callum Luck signs for Spennymoor Town

Paul Williams2 Aug 2024 - 16:05

Callum will link up with Spike and Spennymoor before rejoining The Seasiders on Loan

Callum has only been with us for 8 Games but it only took 1 game to realise what a special player he was. And after our 2-1 narrow defeat to Spennymoor in Pre Season Callum caught the eye of Manager Spike who acted fast to get his signatgure.

Craig Skelton and Simon Kasonali spent the summer chasing Callum and managed to fend off many other clubs who were interested and Craig had the following to say

"When we first met Cal he had plenty of offers but we assured him if he came to us he would grow as a player and as a young man and we wouldnt step in his way if a bigger club came for him we just didnt think it would be so soon. His great start to Pre Season and first couple of League Games has attracted plenty of attention and we are delighted that he has chosen to go to Spennymoor with Spike and Clarky. They know hes one for the future so right now hes not quite ready but by loaning him back to us it gives him a full season at NL1 level where he will get better and better and after that we will shake his hand and wish him luck because believe me his journey wont end at Spennymoor. Callum is very modest he asked me if could tell the lads because he didnt want to sound arrogant which is the furtherst thing the lad is, the scary thing is he doesnt realise how good he is. The lads have all wished him well and are excited for him because thats the kind of squad we are and thats why Cal insisted he wanted to be loaned back to us"

Callum will link up with Spennymoor this weekend and may feature in there friendly fixture Vs York before returing to us to continue the season.

We wish Callum all the success in the world and we are delighted we will still be getting to see him in a Marske shirt for the rest of the season
