Whilst we respect their right to make decisions they believe are in the best interests of their teams, we must make it clear that a number of claims contained within that statement do not accurately reflect the discussions, proposals and negotiations that took place between the Club and representatives of the junior section. The Club has, until now, chosen not to respond publicly to comments made regarding the resignation of the junior committee. However, given the nature of the allegations and inaccuracies contained within the recent statement, we now feel it is necessary to defend the Club's position and reputation. The subscriptions that were requested from the Junior team were: (at time of discussions based on 149 juniors) This would equate to approximately £4.16 per child per month
In return for those subscriptions, Marske United Football Club would provide:
Marske United Football Club has always sought to create a sustainable, unified structure that supports all areas of the Club. Any proposals discussed were intended to ensure fairness, transparency and long-term investment in football within our community. Suggestions that resources, fundraising or subscriptions would benefit only one section of the Club are inaccurate and do not reflect the Club's vision of operating as one organisation for the benefit of all.
Our priorities remain clear:
Marske United Football Club has no intention of engaging in a debate through social media. We believe the most appropriate way to provide accurate and balanced information is through open and transparent discussion. We therefore invite all affected parents, supporters and members of the community to attend an Open Forum and Q&A Session at the Clubhouse on Tuesday 9th June at 6.30pm. At this meeting, the Club will provide a truthful and transparent account of the discussions that have taken place and answer any questions from those in attendance. We hope this will enable everyone to make informed decisions based on the full facts. Until then, we respectfully ask that any commentary or speculation on social media is treated with caution, as much of what has been circulated represents only one side of the story.
Marske United Football Club remains fully committed to providing a football pathway from junior level through to senior football and will continue to recruit and support teams, coaches, volunteers and players who share our vision for a strong, united and community-focused football club.We thank our players, parents, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for their continued loyalty and support. Our focus remains firmly on football, our community and securing a positive future for Marske United Football Club.
Marske United Football Club.
