Marske United are delighted to confirm the addition of exciting fullback Joe Thompson following a period as a trialist.

The journeyed defender links up with former coach Dave Onions at the John Keegan Stadium, bringing with him masses of energy and experience from across the Northern League.

Beginning his career in the division with neighbouring Redcar Athletic, Joe made 45 appearances before switching his allegiance from the Teesside coast to Northallerton, netting twice during his stay.
Successful spells at Crook Town and Guisborough Town followed, with the marauding left-back closing out last season in Division Two.

Adept in both halves of the field, Joe adds both energy and confidence to Paul Burton’s side, further strengthening the squad following the additions of Cam Thomson, Finn McKittrick and Mason McNeill.

Pleased to see him put pen to paper, Burton said: “Joe Thompson brings with him a wealth of Northern league experience.

“He’ll give us quality on the left hand side.”
