"We need to be more mentally strong. Against a different team, our second half performance could have been punished. "

Marske picked up three points on Saturday with a comfortable 4-1 win at home to Gresley, Jarrett said:

"Good first half, not so good second half. The first half is the best I've seen us play in ages.I thought we dominated the game, scored some great goals, it was a pleasure to watch.

"The people who have paid their money to come today, got their money's worth in the first half."

Despite Marske's near perfect first half, the manager was not impressed with the team's second half display, he said:

"In the second half I thought we took our foot off the pedal a little bit. We just didn't do things right. Obviously they're going to make changes and come at us but the standards that we set in the first half we just didn't hit them in the second.

"We need to be more mentally strong. Against a different team, our second half performance could have been punished.

"It seems daft saying it when you win 4-1 but the standard over ninety minutes wasn't good enough.

"We keep the unbeaten run going again, love all that, but I don't want to concede goals. You can't get used to it and that's three games we've gone conceding goals and I don't like that."

The Seasiders face Morpeth tonight in the Integro League Cup, Carl said:

"We go again Tuesday, at home to Morpeth. I'll still be making a few changes, it's not about 11, it's about the whole squad.

"So I need to identify who needs minutes, who can come in and do a job for us and it keeps people fresh for the league on Saturday.

"Everyone knows me at the club and knows that I want to win everything but the bigger picture is we've dropped off in the league and I want us to be back where we belong, in that top two.

"The Morpeth game is a bonus, yeah it's Morpeth and we want to win but we'll make a few changes and go from there."

Marske hope to advance to the Integro League Cup Quarter Finals tonight at Mount Pleasant, 7.45 K.O.
