Jason Kennedy signs contract extension

Jason Kennedy signs contract extension

Conner Kacperski14 Jun 2023 - 09:26

The club is delighted to announce that midfielder Jason Kennedy has signed a contract extension.

The former Middlesbrough midfielder will be playing for the Seasiders once again in the 2023/24 Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division season

Jason is a model professional with a venerable character that inspires both on and off the pitch. Last season the 36 year old made 48 appearances for the Seasiders, just one behind Adam Boyes who topped the list.

He played a crucial part in our survival as a marauding midfielder making key interceptions in our battle for survival.

Jason also brings a fantastic aerial presence as well. He scored 3 goals last year including some great headers away at Liversedge and FC United, the latter a particularly impressive early effort given he was a last-minute addition to the starting line-up to replace an injured teammate.

Speaking about the decision to re-sign Jason said "I’m really excited for the new season ahead."

"I’ve loved my time since I been at the club and was an easy decision for me to sign another contract.

"There’s some massive games and ones to look forward to, for the upcoming season. I’m sure it will be another rollercoaster and hopefully one we can improve on from last year.

"I’m looking forward to working with the new manager Graeme Lee and the management team. Also to work with new players, and the lads that were here last year as well.

"Can’t wait to get back to it and work as hard as we can to be successful and give the supporters something to cheer about and hopefully make some new memories along the way"

In total Jason has made 69 appearances for the Seasiders so far and scored 9 goals since joining from Spennymoor in 2022, initially on loan before making the move permanent.

We are delighted to have him with us again for another season.
