The manager discusses the tight game with league leaders Morpeth.

Marske edged a close affair against Morpeth on Tuesday, winning on penalites for the first time since 2013, Jarrett said:

"It was very tight, you could tell it was two good teams going head to head.

"We made a few changes, like we spoke about on Saturday, they made five changes themselves.

"It was one of them where you want to give lads a run out and keep everyone happy but you want to win the game at the same time.

"I thought we looked really good in the first 15, we attacked them well and were putting the ball into good areas.

"Then we seemed to die off a bit and they were the better team for the remainder of the half.

"We had a few words to try and get the lads to close them down a lot more and to try get Jamie and Curtis to work more as a pair, which they did in the second half, there was a lot more work rate.

"Delighted with the win and more so for Curtis Round who missed last time against North Shields so I reckon his backside was tweaking a bit to go take that last one.

"I'm glad for the lads, they've put a shift in tonight and they've played a good team. So glad to get the win.

"Happy to go through to the next round, in the quarters. There's a few teams left from Leeds and a bit further so a home draw would be nice."

The Seasiders are back in league action tomorrow when they travel to Carlton.
