New signing James Fairley speaks of his return to Marske, dream debut and travel commitments.

Marske resigned James Fairley last week and the title winner begins his third spell at the club in two seasons, he said:

"If I'm going to be deadly honest this is the club I've enjoyed playing for the most. It's a very welcoming club. Carl, Clarky, Wardy and everyone else involved are a great bunch, so it's good to be back enjoying it really.

"It didn't workout at Hebburn, work circumstances, during the week I was struggling a little bit and the club couldn't seem to get their head around it. They wanted 110% from me and I can get that but Carl is a lot more understanding."

Fairley got off to the dream start on Saturday, coming off the bench to seal the game for The Seasiders, he said:

"It didn't take long, I think it was a few minutes in, I probably could have got another one, I should have went for goal rather than hanging back a bit and wasting time but it was just about trying to see the game off after that. All the hard work was done by others, I was played in inside the box so I just took a touch and slotted it home, it was a good start."

He was a key member of Marske's title winning squad last year but was forced to leave the club due to the new demand of travel, Fairley commented:

"I've got my own house now, which helps a little bit more with the little man, he has football at the weekend, starts a lot earlier now than it did last season. Carl is understanding again, if it's away games I'm going to have to travel on my own. Like I say my priority is with the little man but if I can't make it the squad is big enough now to fill the gap."

Fairley will hope to get his first start since rejoining the club on Saturday away to Lincoln United.

Coach leaves the village car park at 10:30am.
