Patience is needed and for the fans to get behind this New Team

Five games in and hearing unrest from certain fans already and the call of “worst performance ever for Marske” last night is laughable. Granted for 70 minutes we were second best but for 20 minutes we dominated them but just couldn’t score. Teams have games like that! Me and kas also know first hand there has been a lot worse performances from Marske United over the years as we have been part of those teams.

Fans need to realise that 3 months ago the club had no team, no management and no players…..this is not the same budget/circumstances as the last few years and it’s not the same team. We started this journey to re-establish the club less than 3 months ago. We have brought in a number of young talented players and also a number of players that have stepped up 2 leagues. This is the core of a fantastic squad and we are looking to build on this going forward. The club has needed to be sensible this time round, the budget is more on the cautious side to enable us to sustain a future for Marske United. This season we are looking to cement our place in the league, we know it’s not going to be easy, we are going up against experienced sides with bigger budgets and players that have been brought in from a number of leagues higher but anyone who saw us play at Carlisle knows we can play football and what we are capable of.

We have a number of positives to take from the 5 league games we have played so far. We know we can score goals and work hard and play some fantastic football. We also have a number of things we need to improve which we have identified and are working on. We ask the fans to be patient and support us on this journey not spread negativity around the club. If anyone ever wants to speak to Kas or I they are more than welcome to come talk to us in the bar after a game, we are always open to having a chat. Ultimately we all have the same end goal and that’s to make football great again at Marske United. Hopefully we see you all there on Saturday.
