The Marske manager discusses the F.A. Trophy tie and recent good form.

Marske advanced to the next round of the F.A. Trophy with a 2-0 win over Tamworth on Saturday, Jarrett said:

"Excellent, what a great win against a team the level above us. I thought we battled it right out today and they weren’t a bad outfit to be fair. They played a lot of long balls, which we expected because we’d had them watched and they went back to front very quickly.

"We couldn’t really get into the rhythm of our play and play football today because it was just one of them days where it was a grind out. The lads showed great character to keep on going and going. I can’t fault them, what a great win for us in the Trophy and to go into the draw against the likes of York, Darlington, Spennymoor, it's quality for me and for a club like this.

"We're delighted with the win, we came in here against a strong Tamworth team, I said to the lads we’ve outplayed the likes of Scarborough a few times and these are about 13th/14th in the league. We defended brilliant and that’s the best I’ve seen Deano in a long time."

Marske got off to a flying start, taking the lead after just 22 seconds, the manager said:

"We speak about starting well every game, it’s harder against teams at this level, you can’t boss the game within 20 minutes, it's more about being tight, managing the game well and taking your chances. But to get a chance within 18 seconds, go one on one and put it in, it is a perfect start and fair play to Curtis."

The Seasider's have not lost a game since mid September and Saturday's win means they are unbeaten at home in over a year, Carl said:

"It’s thirteen games unbeaten and we are flying at home, it’s over a year since we last got be here so it’s happy days. If we can keep that going, draw anyone here and there is a lot of big teams that won’t fancy coming."

Marske are back in league action on Saturday when they face a tough trip to second placed Lincoln United.
