The roles of volunteers at Marske United FC

Have you ever wondered what a match day would look like without the club’s volunteers? It’s safe to say the match just wouldn’t happen without them.

If you take time to read the lists below and feel you could add a useful pair of hands at any time during the week, we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteer effort starts in the days leading up to the game and includes (as a minimum).

Pre-match consists of:
• Facility Cleaning after the previous game
• Kit washing and setting out for next game
• Pitch maintenance, divot filling, spiking, rolling, cutting
• White lining the pitch
• Secretarial work confirming the fixture
• Printing Golden Goal tickets
• Restocking the Bar, Can Bar, Food outlets
• Being around to accept deliveries, sceptic tank emptying etc
• General maintenance and fixing reported issues

Matchday (starts around 8:30am for a 3pm kick off):
• Turn on shower heaters
• Turn on Can Bar fridges
• Prepare food Kabin, water boilers/pie warmers etc.
• Arrange car park barriers and reserved spaces
• Open changing rooms
• Peg out goal nets
• Put out corner flags and floodlight stanchion bumpers
• Prepare Hospitality suite
• Source cash floats for Turnstile, 50/50 and Golden Goal
• Prepare, open and run the Clubhouse bar
• Open and runt the Food Kabin
• Open and run the Can Bar
• Open and run the Hospitality suite
• Open and run the turnstile and season ticket gate
• Various secretarial duties and form filling
• Stewarding duties, player/fan safety and visitor advice
• Stadium announcing and social media updates
• Ball retrieval during the match
• Taking in corner flags and floodlight bumpers
• Cashing up and locking turnstiles, can bar hospitality and Kabin
• Feed the players and match officials
• Locking changing rooms and ensuring all electrical items are switched off
• Turn off the lights and lock up the ground (around 6pm for a Saturday game)
• Continue running the clubhouse bar until the fans roll on home.
