Marske United are delighted to confirm the signing of highly-regarded and versatile young midfielder, Oscar Mahoney.
The 17-year-old links up with Paul Burton’s squad in a permanent move from Grangetown Boys Club - our twelfth addition of a busy summer window.
Sought after by a number of clubs during his short stint in senior football, Oscar began his career with the Boys Club just last year.
He made over 50 appearances during his stay, finding the net on a number of occasions, whilst becoming the youngest player to captain the side during a cup tie against Whickham.
The talented 17-year-old was named Players’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year at Grangetown’s End of Season Awards, making him a real scoop for Paul Burton, and Marske United.
The boss had high praise for the young starlet. He said: “Oscar is a very talented young player who is comfortable playing in a number of positions.
“There were a number of other Northern League clubs interested in him, so I’m thrilled that he decided to come to Marske.
“He will be a great asset to the team.”
Welcome to Marske United, Oscar. We’re delighted to have you on board.
