Marske United made it a second successive draw at the John Keegan Stadium - Kenzie Harker on target in a frantic, physical battle with Easington Colliery.

The returning forward struck the Seasiders ahead inside the half hour, his effort cancelled out on the stroke of halftime by Daniel Maw.

A chaotic final twenty minutes saw chances aplenty, Charlie Watt the closest for Marske on a fast break, finding only the side netting.

It was far from the cagey affair the John Keegan Stadium witnessed on Saturday afternoon.

Finn McKittrick fired wide inside ten minutes, whilst Charlie Watt cut in from the left flank to force a save from shot-stopper James Hopkinson.

Denny Tapping and Ryan Barrow both missed chances for the Colliers. Tapping’s effort whistled passed the near post, whilst the fullback rustled the side netting.

A scramble in the box gifted Kenzie Harker the opening goal - a first for the club since his return. The ball dropped kindly for the forward ten yards from goal, and he made no mistake with a driven volley.

Marske could have doubled the lead when Mason McNeill’s inviting cross went to no avail. Charlie Watt sought Kenzie Harker with a long ball, but Hopkinson was alert to thwart the danger.

A delightful move through the center carved United open to see parity restored, Daniel Maw stroking the ball home on the stroke of halftime.

Easington rode that wave of momentum with a flurry of second half chances. Mike Algie was called into action to deny Aiden Stanton, whilst Denny Tapping hit the post.

Tapping again went close with a curling effort into the gloves of the Marske shot-stopper, who was forced to be alert when Brad Hird looked for a rebound on Dom Agnew’s deep drive.

The Seasiders found chances of their own in a spirited final twenty minutes. Kenzie Harker drifted inside to see his strike blocked, whilst Cam Thomson caught an effort wrong on the edge of the area.

Liam Adamson saw an effort cleared off the line for the visitors. Charlie Watt lead the counter charge, finding only the side netting as the clock ticked into stoppage time.
