Marske United were beaten by the ten men of Penrith after a poor display under the lights at the John Keegan Stadium.
The ‘Bonny Blues’ started the brighter, taking the lead through Kian Makar inside the opening ten minutes.
Tai Bell was sent off for a challenge which saw Leo Robinson denied from the spot. Jordan Palmer added a second for the visitors following a defensive mistake.
Arriving bottom of the division and winless in six games, Penrith would have been forgiven for lacking in confidence on a bitter evening in Marske. Instead, they started by far the better of the two sides.

Kian Makar led the charge. He twice forced Mike Algie into action in the opening ten minutes, soon picking out the bottom corner to open the scoring.
Marske had limited chances to seek a response. Joe Thompson struck the wall from a free kick, whilst Leo Robinson fired an effort just wide of the stanchion.
The young midfielder was soon felled in the box by Tai Bell, who was shown the red card for his challenge. Robinson’s spot kick was saved by shot-stopper Lewis Boyd.
Opportunities remained at a premium when play resumed, though it was the ten men of Penrith who looked the more threatening.
Jordan Palmer struck the upright, before lobbing Mike Algie on the next attack after another moment of hesitation at the back.

The Seasiders mustered little in response as the minutes ticked by. Leo Robinson forced another save from Lewis Boyd, before firing wide. Kenzie Harker cut inside and drilled his effort past the near post.
James Rowe had a wild swing at a loose ball, firing narrowly over frame of the goal, whilst Mike Algie was needed at the other end to tip Tom Eglinton’s attempted clearance behind for a corner.
