Charlie Watt (allegedly) fired Marske United to a much-needed victory in difficult conditions against a recently resurgent Kendal Town side.
The forward rose to turn Joe Thompson’s long throw past Chris Cheetham inside the opening ten minutes, though the final touch arguably came from a defender.
Kendal sought a response with the wind at their backs, but the Seasiders again fought admirably to seal a fourth clean sheet of the league campaign.
It was Marske who made the better of strong winds and driving rain on a torrid afternoon at the John Keegan Stadium.

Joe Thompson’s sixth minute throw was thumped into the back of the net by a crowd of players. Charlie Watt took the plaudits, though it was likely his own man that rose to beat Chris Cheetham.
Chances came at a premium as the contest progressed. Mike Algie was called upon to deny Joe Wilkinson with an outstretched leg, before Kenzie Harker’s effort was blocked on the half hour mark.
Charlie Watt picked out Leo Robinson on a quick break - his attempt deflected behind - whilst Dom Joynes broke free after a defensive mistake, but fired over the bar.
Kendal found much more in the way of possession when play resumed, with the wind now at their backs. Matty Clarke twice saw an effort blocked, whilst Mike Algie was alert to clear following a counterattack.
The Seasiders arguably came the closest in the second half, albeit kicking into the storm. Dom Joynes powered down the left flank - his cross turned behind by Clayton Brown, with Charlie Watt lurking.
