Marske United booked their place in the Isuzu FA Vase Second Qualifying Round with victory over Seaham Red Star at the John Keegan Stadium.
It was Charlie Watt again who made the breakthrough for the Seasiders, complimenting a well-taken spot kick with a tidy second half finish.
Seaham pulled a goal back in the closing stages, but couldn’t muster enough to see Marske pegged back for parity come the end of the ninety.
Donning brand new threads, it was the home side who started the brighter on a much cooler afternoon at the John Keegan Stadium.
Charlie Watt’s driven effort was forced behind for a corner, whilst James Rowe climbed to nod Cam Thomson’s pinpoint delivery wide of the mark.

Returning captain Tom Marron was on the end of a mistimed challenge in the area, one the referee deemed worthy of a spot kick.
Charlie Watt stepped up with his usual composure, thumping his effort high into the top corner to leave little chance for Seaham shot-stopper Shaun Newbrook.
Red Star matched - and perhaps bettered - the Seasiders in phases. Kai Charlton twice drew a stop from Mike Algie, who had to be alert to claw his vicious strike behind on the stroke of halftime.
Shaun Newbrook matched the theatrics at the other end to deny James Rowe’s headed effort. The midfielder had a second chance soon after, but poked wide of the near post.
Marske opted for a triple change on the hour, introducing young Dan Bean who slipped play through for Charlie Watt to double the scoring.
The forward broke through one-on-one with Shaun Newbrook, poking the ball beyond the shot-stopper and in off the far post.

Matty Kirokiro also entered the play, almost opening his account with a dangerous looping cross which needed a touch to turn it behind at the expense of a corner.
Seaham looked more of a threat as the minutes ticked by. Mike Algie again came to Marske’s aid to deny McKellen Lines, before Jack Robertson pounced on a loose ball to halve the advantage.
Alfie Fawcett drilled an effort down the throat of Algie as the fulltime whistle loomed, a wayward strike from Thomas Lawson Red Star’s last throw of the dice as the Seasiders held on to claim victory.
