All the latest developments and news at Marske United this week.

The Club’s Main Focus

Most are aware Marske United have until the 31st of January 2024 to ensure all player and football club debts have been paid in full and provide written evidence of this to the NPL/FA in order to be able to join a new league next season.

This is currently the club’s number one priority for the rest of January, and as things stand Marske United is currently on track to achieve this thanks to the extensive fundraising campaign and some additional efforts this month.

The players have been paid and Marske United is currently working through the process of clearing the other football debts.

Supporters may have seen on social media that some of our valued suppliers have already received their payments and we would like to thank our club partners for their patience and support as Marske United continues to progress things behind the scenes in this area ahead of the deadline.

Once this process has been completed, the club will then turn its focus to addressing other matters such as governance and operational structure in early February.

Tickets for the evening are still available at £5 each by emailing commercial@marskeunitedfc.org

Awards Evening

Last week voting opened for the Marske United End of Season awards.

Supporters can vote for their Fans First Team & Reserves Players of the season as well as their favourite goal and nominate club volunteers for the unsung hero awards.

So far there have been 235 unique responses record following the removal of duplicates.

As things stand only 6 votes separate the top two contenders for Fans First Team Player of the Season so for those who have not voted already, your ballot could make the difference!

Voting will close on Sunday 28th January

This will give time for the panel to adjudicate the unsung hero award nominations which are in excess of 30 nominations already and also give ample opportunity for the trophies to be engraved ahead of the event itself.

Marske United Reserves vs Heighington, MFC Herlingshaw Centre

Due to the condition of the Mount Pleasant playing surface which prevented the tractor and rolling equipment from working due to wheelspin, the club have moved Saturday’s North Riding League Division 1 home fixture against Heighington to the Herlingshaw Centre in light of the worsening weather forecast.

The game is free to attend and all supporters are welcome.

Marske United U10 Boys

The team did not have a game last weekend due to postponements but we look forward to seeing them back in action soon!

Marske United U9 Boys

Marske United U9s took on top of the league Stokesley Whites Sunday afternoon. Each player gave everything and provided a tough test for the opposition.

Marske showed the league leaders with their attacking prowess, rattling two shots off the cross bar in the first half despite the Seasiders having a depleted squad due to illnesses.

We struggled to pick a MOTM so we selected two!

Billy was phenomenal and managed to even sneak in a back heeled pass to save a goal and Noah battled all the way through the game taking chances and shots.

Overall Marske United U9s are growing stronger each week and training hard.Well done boys, great game to see!

Marske United U7 Boys

A superb team effort from Marske United U7s saw them progress to the third round of the League Cup at the weekend .

Football Boot Appeal for Uganda

Marske United is running a collection for old football boots for children and adults in Uganda in association with the Marske United Supporters Club.

A donation box will soon be available in the clubhouse which is open throughout the week and used by various community groups.

Donations are welcome up to the 20th Feb ahead of the boots being flown out on the 25th. Any support is appreciated!

Drainage Volunteer Appreciation & Video

Big thank you to the volunteers and fans for their hard work and support on the drainage project over the summer. Without them we would not still be here today.

Supporters can watch a video by documentary filmmaker Ben Fearnley on the drainage project here

Had it not been for their efforts to help us improve the pitch over the summer, our big games against Macclesfield and Morpeth would not have been playable, nor even our recent Reserves match against North Ormesby on Saturday.

An immense effort which will pay dividends for years to come. Well done team!
