Paul Burton praised his side for grinding out a result in difficult conditions - particularly given a run of six successive defeats.
Charlie Watt allegedly scored the goal which made the difference on the day as Marske sank a recently resurgent Kendal Town.
He rose to turn Joe Thompson’s sixth minute throw past Chris Cheetham, though the final touch arguably came from a defender.
The Marske boss was delighted to finally record that much needed victory, especially given torrid weather conditions thanks to Storm Boelo.
Strong gusts and driving rain marred any quality in the contest, yet the Seasiders still dug in to grind out what can only be sold as a crucial result on home soil.
“I think after the run of results we've had, it was just a case of getting three points and getting back to winning games.” He said.

“I was delighted - the effort and commitment was pretty much outstanding from every player on that pitch.
“I think the one thing you don't want in a game of football is wind. Rain, you can get away with. Even snow you can get away with, really, but the wind just spoils it.
“I thought we managed it quite well, to be fair, especially in the first half. I thought we managed to get it down and produce some decent passages of play at times, and we defended extremely well.
“The second half was a bit a bit more even. Although the wind wasn't blowing directly down the pitch - I think it was sort of diagonal - I thought it suited them.
“Still, I don’t think Mike (Algie) had a proper save to make. We restricted them to very, very little, even with the bit of pressure that we came under for the last 20 minutes.
“So, yeah, I thought we did well.”

Looking back at recent results, Paul Burton didn’t shy away from commenting on a what can only be described as a poor run of form.
Marske arrived at the John Keegan Stadium on Saturday on the back of six consecutive defeats, including a four-goal thrashing in Carlisle on Tuesday evening.
“I’m pleased just to get going again. Coming off the back of six defeats, you question everything, you know. You question everything that we're trying to do.” He said.
“I question myself, you know, what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get a performance out of the players, and I question, well, can I do that? Have I been able to do that in those six games?
“I think when you look back at those games, we should have got something from maybe three of them. We probably deserved something in three of them.
“The thing is, at this level, you just can’t switch off. You've got to be on it for 90 minutes. You’ve got to put a shift in.
“I’m delighted for the lads today. They’ve taken some criticism, and it comes with the territory, we expect that.
“But it's not easy sometimes, with people being unavailable, people being away on holiday, people being suspended, being injured, and sometimes you've just got to, you know, get on with it.
“I'm just pleased for the lads today. They’ve come through a tough patch and the dressing room is bouncing again.
“Now we’ve got another big game on Tuesday at Newton Aycliffe, and we’ve just got to go there and see what we can do.”
